The Geoecology Lab of Yonsei University studies how the Earth’s ecosystems interact with the geosphere-hydrosphere processes. Ecosystems are sensitive to physical environments shaped by hydrosphere-geosphere interactions and climate-driven processes. Reconstructing the changes and responses of the past ecosystems is especially important for understanding what had changed in the Earth system for the time scales longer than modern observations can discover. Geoecology is such a broad interdiscplinary field of geoscience and under the large umbrella of geology and (paleo)ecology.
